Garnier brusher microbead scrub

A while ago, I purchased this scrub from a walmart near my house. My skin was going out of hand those days, so I thought why not! It's 150ml, cost about $4, and comes in dry skin, combination, and oily skin. Not a bad deal.

The packaging was quite nice because the lid was clear and the bottle itself was translucent, which allowed me to see how the brush was, as well as the product inside the bottle.

The durability of the bottle is really good too. I can say this because it's been through a lot (lets just say, many roller coasters and still managed to not leak!) and it's still in perfect condition! No gel residue all over my bathroom counter!

Application is simple and easy, not to mention mess free, thanks to the brush included on top of the bottle!

There is a tiny hole that the gel comes out through and seeps around the bristles onto your skin. As you massage your face in circular motions with the bottle, The gel, gently yet effectively gets into your skin and gets rid of all the oil and dead skin cells, ect. (Did I mention that it has a twist cap for those with children!)

The consistency of the product is sort of liquidy. Although it is said to be a gel, it is pretty easy to let it flow without the use of any force. But since the bottle is leak free (I have found from personal experience), the only possibility of it leaking is if you decide to leave the bottle completely upside down without the lid. -.- (why would you do that??) So, if you're one to care to about that, you've got nothing to worry about.

After I applied it for about a week (gentle enough to use everyday) or so, I noticed a huge difference! There was much less acne, and the scars from  the ones before started healing. This scrub worked like a charm!  By now, I am quite sure i have purchased it more than enough times. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who likes a cheap, mess free, perfect scrub!

Review: Royal Platinum Eau De Parfume

Today, I'm going to review this new fragrance company I found at the drugstore! Its called Royal Platinum and they make clones of the brand name perfumes. I recently bought the Paris Hilton one and one of 'the one' by Dolce and Gabana! They are extremely affordable (got each for $5) and they do smell like the real ones! Staying power is not too bad (The Paris Hilton one stays on my clothes for theeee longest time! Even after the washes!) and the amount considering the price is pretty good too. If your familiar with the scents, the Paris Hilton one smells like a fruity sensation with a bit of elegance to it, and the D and G one smells like vanilla with a side or orchids! Or maybe i'm a bit off with the scents. I'm sorry I don't know how to describe them. But, I highly recommend them to everyone, whether your looking for a new scent to try and if you just want to grow your collection. These are perfect for a casual day or even formal (I wore 'the one' to my grad!). They also have a mens line too, by the way. Oh, and did I mention they have gorgeous bottles (or at least I think they are).

Review: St.Ives naturally clear apricot scrub

So to start of the review section of this blog, I chose to review my scrub that I have been using for some time now. It is the naturally clear blemish and blackhead clearing apricot scrub by St.Ives.  I'm pretty serious and conscious of my skin so finding the right product is really complicated. You must be wondering why that is (isn't everyone conscious of their skin?..), but if you read on, you'll soon find out.

First, i'm going to tell you guys about my skin so you sort of have an idea of what I have to choose products based on. My skin is fairly oily (but not overly) but when I wash it it dries out extremely fast, to the point that I feel as if it was going to rip any second. That for me is the biggest fact to look at when choosing any product. But the second fact I look at is the sensitivity of my skin! My skin is extremely sensitive so when ever I use a product that doesn't suite my skin, it will react. Usually the reaction is pretty bad, because it causes many zits and marks in less than an hour. And when I get zits and marks, they stay for what seems like a lifetime. My skin is also fair/light, so the marks and leftovers are totally visible which make me sooo mad/sad/discouraged about everything. Now you know why i'm so conscious and what my skin is like! Now back to the review!

We were going to go on vacation with the rest of the family when I started breaking out really badly. We were shopping when I came across the skincare aisle. I walked through the aisle, eyeing almost everything because it all looked so good. But there was 1 thing that really caught my attention. Can you guess what that might be? That's right, this apricot scrub. It looked so simple and I loved that is had a fruit aspect to it. (My skin usually does better with organic products) So I bought a bottle to take on vacay with me and tried it. I absolutely loveeed it!! Yes, it has a tad bit big granules but that's what really got deep into my skin and cleansed so nicely. After washing it off, I noticed that my skin was baby bottom smooth and soft, not to mention, Not Dry At All! I felt like my skin skin was just amazing! It doesn't only cleanse but it also makes my skin look so (or maybe its just me) white. This is the first product I have ever found that is not only cheap (was like $6) but also very effective! I would totally recommend it to everyone! It works for every type skin (got my cousins and mom to try it, worked great!). So next time your at the store and looking for a new scrub, give this one a go!

OOTD: first one!

So today, I woke up at around 1:30pm (ramadan and fasting) to this gorgeous sunshine. All warm and fuzzy! It was the perfect chance to get a tiny tan (hands and feet, of course). I got out of bed and threw on some clothes. Not surprisingly, taking the Edmonton weather, it rained. Yes, that's right, It rained! Ah, so back to the closet. But luckily I found the perfect outfit! Since it was kinda cool and misty so I thought why not the new bright sweater I bought with some leggings. And that's what I wore:

But again, (THANK YOU EDMONTON!) the sun was out and about again! It was beautiful! ALOHA SUMMER!!

Age Rant!

Today's topic is, Age rant!! So lately I've been trying to get a job for some extra pocket money for high school. I have applied to more than enough places and surprisingly gotten an interview call for every job! But, there was one that interested me more than all the others. It was a job opening at a new Marshalls (retail store). Taking the fact that I love clothes and fashion or even retail in general, I happily applied. To my surprise I got a call from hiring staff the very next day, thanks to my volunteering.  I followed the whole phone interview process and even got a call for the actually on site interview! I was excited out of my mind! I couldn't stop jumping for the whole time remaining and counted down every minute till the interview!

Finally the time came to go and as you could probably guess, I was the first one into the car with the belt on. The drive took about an hour and I reviewed the questions they might ask me (researched on the net) to ready myself. After a PAINFUL time in the car, we reached our destination. Again, I was the first out the car and shooting up the escalator. As soon as I stepped through the door, I saw the hiring table. I walked up to it and was quickly greeted by the interviewer.

We said hi, hello and then she led me into a room in the back and sat me down at a table. She gave me the application form before she took the interview. I started filling the application and soon (maybe finishing a bit more than half) I came upon a question. A simple question that totally stumped me. 'ARE YOU BONDABLE (16+)? '. I stopped and asked her, what if i'm not 16? The answer made me really mad! She simply answered: "Oh then you can't work here, sorry.".

Can you believe it?? All that time, process, happiness, just down the drain! I'm sorry but I just don't get it! If we were good enough (and below 16) to catch your attention, out of all the others (above 16), then why won't we be good enough to work? That day, I went home and basically huffed and puffed most of the time. I just needed a way to take out all the anger and frustration, so I thought, why not just lay out how I feel on my blog! That's it for the rant. Thank you for listening and i'm sorry, you had to go through all that. Lol. Now to make things better, Here's a picture of kitty(:

Vegan Chocolate Crazy Cake

I had been looking for a cake to make for my mom on mother's day when I came across this awesome recipe for a vegan chocolate cake! My mom loves chocolate cake so I thought why not! Not only that but I'd also wanted to try a healthier alternative to the old recipe I had.

I fell in love with this as soon as I read the ingredients list! This recipe has NO EGGS, NO MILK, AAAND NO BUTTER!! The only ingredients it had were of everyday use and can be found in my pantry at any time. If you aren't one to worry about the ingredients or the list, then I gotta tell you that this recipe wasn't called crazy cake for nothing! The actual reason it's called crazy cake is, because it's extremely simple and easy. If you as me, this cake can come out perfect if it were done by a 5 year old! Did I mention that it is all done in the baking pan? So there is no extra mess to clean (a big point on my scale!) The hands on process takes about 10 mins (or less in my case) and about 30-35 mins in the oven. Your probably bored by now by my blabbering so lets not waste more time and get to the recipe!
Crazy Cake (8" square baking pan):

Ingredients

1 1/2 Cups flour (all-purpose)
3 Tbsp. cocoa (unsweetened)
1 Cup white sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp.  salt

1 tsp. white vinegar
1 tsp.  pure vanilla extract
5 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 Cup water

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix first 5 dry ingredients in the baking pan.  Make 3 holes in dry ingredients - two small, one large. Pour vinegar in one hole, vanilla in the other and the vegetable oil in large hole.  Pour water over all.  Mix well until smooth.

Bake on middle rack of oven for 35 minutes.  Check with toothpick to make sure it comes out clean.  Cool.  Top with your favorite frosting (and/or top with sprinkled powdered sugar and fruits).  Enjoy!

Tips:
You can double this recipe, just use a 9x13 baking pan.

You can also mix the batter in a bowl for neater, easier mixing.  Be sure to follow the directions the same way - mixing the dry ingredients then making the depressions for the wet ingredients.  Don't forget to grease you pan.  You can also make cupcakes - be sure to adjust baking time.

Many have shared that this recipe is great served warm or cold with just sprinkling powdered sugar on top!
